D.S.A.T. Tec courses

DSAT TecRec courses provide the techniques and procedures necessary for diving beyond recreational dive limits. These are some of the most intensive, yet exhilarating, courses you'll find. Technical diving isn't for everyone, but if this type of diving appeals to you and you're willing to accept the risks, responsibilities and obligations, you'll find it one of the most rewarding dive experiences you'll ever have.

Catalina Scuba Luv has broken this program into three separate programs. Each program is performance-based and requires a three to four day visit to complete.

Merging basic deep diving skills with extended range of principles, the Tec Deep program is filled with rigorous mental as well as physical challenges. Divers perfect their decompression diving skills while calculating the safest way to push their diving limits.

  • Each course takes approximately 3 days and includes 6 dives

Tec 40

The Tec 40 course consists of three knowledge development sections, three practical application sessions and four training dives.

You will learn the following:

  • Technical diving’s risks and responsibilities

  • Technical diving equipment, proper rigging and set up

  • Gas planning, oxygen limits and decompression planning

  • Team diving techniques and emergency procedures, such as dealing with free flows, manifold leaks and out of gas situations

Course Fee: $495.00 plus PADI PIC Registration*

Tec 45

Your Tec 45 training consists of three knowledge development sections, three practical application sessions, and four open water dives. Building on what you learned in the Tec 40 course, you will focus on the function and maintenance of tec diving equipment and associated issues. You will continue fine-tuning gas planning and calculating accelerated decompression stops. Plus, you learn to think like a technical diver.

Course Fee: $495.00 plus PADI PIC Registration*

Tec 50

Decompression Procedures

Knowing and understanding decompression procedures is a fundamental element of deep diving. In this course divers learn how to plan prolonged dives with deco-stops while using a combination of stage bottles and oxygen.
